NFL fans and pundits took to Twitter on Thursday to voice their displeasure with NFL commissioner and Bronxville resident Roger Goodell's decision to suspend New Rochelle native and Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice for only two games after he was involved in a physical altercation with his wife, according to gamedayr.com.
Rice was charged with felony aggravated assault after a violent incident with his now-wife in an Atlantic City casino. The two game suspension outraged critics, who compared it to the full-year suspension that Cleveland wide receiver Josh Gordon received for testing positive for marijuana, gamedayr.com said.
Rice, one of the top players in the history of Section 1 (Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess and Rockland counties) led the Huguenots to a New York State Class AA title in 2003 before moving on to set rushing and scoring records at Rutgers University.
