New York State Police say they conducted plainclothes checks of 14 retail locations throughout Putnam County that sell alcohol to ensure compliance with state Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Law on Friday, Sept. 13.

This enforcement resulted in two arrests:

  • Guillermo Vanegas, 59, of Brewster, an employee of Route 6 Petroleum (250 U.S. Route 6 in Mahopac) was charged with prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage, a Class A misdemeanor, and is scheduled to appear at the Town of Carmel Court on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
  • TracyMarie Disimone, 51, of Peekskill, an employee of 76 Mart (494 North Main Street in Brewster) was charged with prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage, a Class A misdemeanor, and is scheduled to appear at the Village of Brewster Court.

The other 12 establishments checked were found to be in compliance, police say.
