Police were alerted to the incident in Bridgeport around 3 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 17,  when the owner of King of Kings Auto Sales Repair on Orange Street told police that his phone notified him that three people were on his property where he keeps several vehicles stored outside, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police.

Officers searched the area, but the three suspects had fled the scene by the time officers arrived on the scene.

A search of the area did turn up batteries, a catalytic converter and a Sawzall and blades that were left by the suspects, Jones said.

Police later located one of the suspects, Christian Castro, of Bridgeport, but he took off running with police in pursuit. Officers chased him on foot down Orange Street to Wilmont Street where he was finally caught at the Bay View condominium complex, he added.

During the chase, Castron had jumped a chain-link fence and cut his hand, Jones said.

Following his arrest he was taken to Bridgeport Hospital where he is currently waiting for treatment, police said

Castro was charged with three counts of burglary, larceny, and criminal trespass.

The search is still on for the other suspects.
