The incident, which was reported about 10:45 a.m., appears to have involved a man with white hair and a beard who was driving a gray Chevrolet Suburban, according to police.
According to authorities, the man was unable to get into the home. By the time an officer arrived on scene moments later, the man had left.
In other news, North Castle police responded to reports of a suspicious man walking in the area of Greenway Road on the evening of June 25, according to authorities.
The man, who appeared to be drunk and trespassing through private yards, was described as middle-aged and disheveled with long hair, according to police.
An officer who responded to the scene found no sign of the suspicious man.
About 6 a.m. on June 24, North Castle police responded to a Windmill Road home after receiving a report that the recyclables outside the home had been shredded by what appeared to be a large animal, according to authorities, who reported that the tenant at the home could not say what type of animal it may have been.
In other animal news, police responded to Main Street on June 25 after receiving a report that a dog was locked in a hot vehicle with the windows up, according to police. An officer responded to the scene and later reported that the matter had been “rectified.”
