Police officers were dispatched to a Foxhall Road residence in Scarsdale on Thursday, April 26, where there was a report of a man that had attempted to enter the residence 15 minutes earlier, according to a report released on Monday.

According to police, officers spoke to the homeowner, who stated that he was on the second floor of the house when he heard “noise at the front door that sounded as if someone was trying to gain entry.” As soon as the man saw that someone was in the house, the suspect reportedly ran away from the house west in the direction of Secor Road.

The suspect was described as a 5-foot-10 white man wearing a gray zip-up hooded sweatshirt that covered his hair, black jeans and oversized aviator sunglasses that covered his face.

Officers proceeded to canvas the area in search of the suspect, but did not find him. There was also no nearby surveillance cameras for investigators to check. In response to the alleged attempted break-in, patrol conducted drive-bys in the area for the remainder of the tour as the investigation continues.
