NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. - Police were dispatched to Nichols Road in North Castle following reports of possible gunshots in the area.
The North Castle Police Department received calls from a local resident at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 28 who reported that she had heard three or four gunshots in the area.
Officers were dispatched to the reported location to investigate and canvassed the area with negative reports.
Other items on the North Castle Police Department blotter from July 28 to Aug. 3 include:
- On Monday, July 31, police in White Plains alerted officers in North Castle of a dispute at the Shell gas station on North Broadway. Upon arrival, it was determined that the incident was civil in nature over a flat-tire repair. The man was able to make other arrangements with BMW and had his vehicle moved to another location for repair.
- An off duty member of the Westchester County Police Department alerted officers in North Castle of a suspicious female that was walking on North Broadway, toward Ralph’s Ice. Two officers from North Castle reported to the scene and requested an ambulance for the woman, who was suffering from dementia. After refusing medical attention, police helped the woman track down a family member, who she was released to.
- The North Castle Police Department received reports of a rabid raccoon in the roadway on Windmill Road on Friday, July 28. Officers responded to the scene and reported that the “animal has been dispatched (and) matters are adjusted.”
