NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. -- A property dispute topped the North Castle police blotter last week.
On Thursday, April 8, police were called by a man who was trying to retrieve property from an apartment on North Broadway but couldn’t get anyone inside to open the door.
Two officers met the man outside the residence, and the dispute was resolved.
Other blotter items include:
- Saturday, April 9: Police were called around 4:22 a.m. by OnStar which was reporting a car accident at the intersection of Route 22 and King Street. OnStar told police that it was unable to “conference” with the driver. Police responded to the scene and found that there were no injuries involved in the accident.
- Sunday, April 10: The owner of a home on Maryland Avenue called to say his tenant was having problems getting in and out of her driveway because of the way a neighbor was parking his car. Police investigated and found that the neighbor’s car was parked legally and were told by the tenant herself that she has no “issues” with the way her neighbor parks.
- Tuesday, April 12: A resident of Green Valley Road called to report a suspicious vehicle in the area of Creemer and Hadley roads. The caller said someone in the car was either putting mail into mailboxes or taking it out. The driver, who police found on Green Valley Road, turned out to be a mailman who was using his personal vehicle “due to a shortage of mail carriers,” they said.
