Police intervention was required to assist a truck driver who got stuck near an overpass he couldn’t travel past.
The North Castle Police Department received a call from a motorist in a tractor-trailer on Central Westchester Parkway at approximately 1:30 p.m. on July 31 when he found himself stuck near the White Plains border. Officers from the White Plains and North Castle Police Department were dispatched to the area, and confirmed the truck would be unable to pass under the overpass without striking it.
There have been dozens of bridges struck by tractor-trailers this year in Westchester, including several in the past two weeks.
The officers were able to assist the driver, and the tractor-trailer was removed from the roadway without further incident.
