Earlier report:
A stretch of the Hutchinson River Parkway was closed through much of the afternoon after a fatal, wrong-way motor-vehicle crash involving three vehicles early Sunday morning.
Two injuries have also been reported, in addition to the one person killed, an unidentified woman who was driving one of the vehicles involved.
The passenger in her car was seriously injured. An unidentified male in the other vehicle involved suffered injuries believed to be non-life threatening.
The closure was on the northbound side in Scarsdale between Exit 21 (Weaver Street) and Mamaroneck Road (Exit 22) and continued through mid-afternoon during a lengthy accident investigation.
The crash occurred just before 5 a.m. near the Weaver Street exit.
