Labor Department: Bridgeport Woman Stole $15,000 In Benefits

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — The state Department of Labor has accused a Bridgeport woman of collecting more than $15,000 in fraudulent unemployment benefits, according to the Connecticut Post.

Monica Smalls, 38, was arrested Friday and charged with first-degree larceny for collecting the funds between July 2012 and September 2014, the Connecticut Post said.

She was released on $10,000 bond and is due in court on Jan. 25.
