IDs Released Of Men Injured In I-684 Wrong-Way Head-On Crash

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - The New York State Police Department has released the identities of the two men involved in a head-on collision that involved a wrong-way driver on I-684 in Bedford.

According to the police, at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Sunday night, officers were dispatched to the area of Exit 4 when 30-year-old Carmel resident Steven Becerra entered the interstate from the southbound exit ramp and continued driving north in the southbound lanes.

Not long after navigating his Toyota RAV4 onto I-684, Becerra struck Yonkers resident Michael Duffy, 42, who was traveling southbound and could not avoid the wrong-way driver, head-on.

Both men were transported to the Westchester Medical Center for treatment. Duffy suffered non-life threatening injuries, while Becerra remains listed in critical condition.
