NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. - An affable bus driver in North Castle recently helped police unite a neighborhood dog with its owner after seeing it roam the streets on several occasions.

Last week, police in North Castle were contacted by a bus driver, who reported that he had seen the same black and brown puppy running loose in the area on numerous occasions, with the dog even making his way onto the bus while he was dropping off some kids on Monday.

Police spoke with the bus driver, who was able to provide the offers with the dog owner’s name and address. The driver noted that he had also seen the dog loose on Starkey Road, and that he was worried it may frighten children getting off the bus.

The officers spoke with the dog’s owner, and the “matter is adjusted,” according to police.

  • On Saturday, April 29, police were dispatched to Launder Centers on North Broadway in White Plains, where a caller reported that while he was doing laundry, a shoe that he had been washing had gone missing. The complainant told police he believed that it was taken by another customer, who was still in the laundromat. Police said that they responded to the laundromat and planned to follow up with laundromat management.
