WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - A registered sex offender convicted of raping a teenage girl has changed addresses in Westchester County.
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert on Monday to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 46-year-old Gustamante Fernando, who has moved to a residence on Stone Avenue in Yonkers.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Fernando as a Level 2 threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Fernando was convicted on a third-degree rape charge in 1996 for having sexual intercourse his 13-year-old victim. He was arrested by the New York City Police Department Sex Offender Unit and sentenced to five years probation. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Yonkers City Police Department SOR Unit.
