North Castle Bans Non-Essential Travel During Nor'easter

Non-essential travel in North Castle has been restricted to strictly emergency vehicles and DPW trucks as the worst of the winter weather is expected to hit Westchester County on Wednesday afternoon.

The North Castle Police Department issued an alert on Wednesday warning that due to the severe winter weather conditions, travel is expected to be “hazardous or impossible” during the evening commute.

Officials said that snow may fall at a rate of two inches per hour, with an accumulation of up to 10 inches expected in the afternoon, and as many as four more inches overnight, leaving “hazardous travel conditions this afternoon, particularly during the evening commute on Wednesday.
