There were lengthy delays on two Metro-North lines during the Wednesday morning commute after an unidentified man was struck and killed by a train near the Fairfield station.
Metro-North reported delays of between 30 and 40 minutes on the New Haven Line. Danbury Branch Line Service also experienced delays of up to 40 minutes. Delays of 10 minutes on both lines were reported at 9 a.m. Service had returned to on or close to schedule by 10 a.m.
The incident, at Grasmere Avenue and Kings Highway, occurred just before dawn, leading to service being suspended in both directions at that time.
