The body of a 26-year-old who worked in Westchester and who disappeared in Manhattan was found about 55 miles south in New Jersey late Wednesday morning in a murder mystery spanning three states.

Joseph Comunale, 26, of Stamford, Conn., went missing after last being seen entering a luxurious apartment building in Manhattan on Sunday.

News 4 New York reported that Comunale returned from a party on 14th Street with two men from New Jersey and three women to the apartment of the son of a well-known jeweler who lives in Grand Sutton Tower located on East 59th Street near First Avenue.

Two men were being questioned at an NYPD stationhouse Wednesday, according to News 4, and the jeweler's son may be a suspect in the case, although no charges have yet been filed, the Daily News reports. Bloody sheets and Comunale's pants were recovered inside a garbage bag near the apartment building, the report said.

Authorities believe there was a fight and that Comunale was stabbed, reports News 4 New York.

Comunale, known as "Joey," worked as a sales associate at Tri-Ed Security Products and Solutions on Executive Boulevard in Elmsford. He graduated from Hofstra University in 2012.

Officials found his body buried in Oceanport on the Jersey Shore in Monmouth County on Wednesday morning in a shallow grave, the Daily News reported.

A source told the New York Post that a resident of the apartment has been taken into custody on an "unrelated incident" on Monday.
