White Plains Manager Banks on Good Communication

Peter Moncada sees a local bank such as Greater Hudson Bank in White Plains as a part of the community. As the branch manager/assistant vice president, Moncada says, “The most important thing is to have a relationship and open lines of communication with your banker. If there are situations, having a conversation with the banker is not a bad idea. They can offer suggestions or solutions.” A resident of Yonkers, Moncada says his branch opened in 2010, introducing the White Plains area to all Greater Hudson Bank has to offer.

He sees the bank's small size as beneficial because it makes it more flexible. “We have a better pulse on what is happening in Westchester … where our clients live and do business.” Greater Hudson handles CDs, checking accounts, savings accounts, credit, commercial mortgages, and loans for personal and business use. Moncada points to the value of communication, which he believes is stronger because of Greater Hudson’s size.

In banking since his college days, Moncada began as a teller in 1982 and held many positions before joining Greater Hudson. Moncada says Greater Hudson took over the empty building on North Broadway, gutting the entire inside and creating the welcoming space now there.

The goal is to listen to every client’s story. He says he advocates for the bank and the client. “I like to listen and see if there is anything I can do,” Moncada says. “I am running a branch reaching out to the community in order to look for relationships that make sense for everybody.”

Moncada is a former board member for the Yonkers YMCA has coached youth hockey. Moncada believes in the value of working with the community and creating relationships. He sees his position at the bank the same way. His motto is “There are no problems. There are only opportunities for solutions.”
