The founder of Facebook, a former New York City mayor, a presidential candidate and several investors are among a long list of Hudson Valley residents who are included in the newly released Forbes 400, the magazine's annual ranking of the richest Americans in terms of net worth.
Nine Westchester residents made the list, and Rockland and Dutchess residents were also ranked.
Leading the list is 32-year-old Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, a White Plains native who grew up in Dobbs Ferry and attended Ardsley High School. Zuckerberg has a net worth of $55.5 billion, according to Forbes.
Just behind Zuckerberg is former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. The 74-year-old media mogul, who owns an estate in North Salem, has a net worth of $45 billion, Forbes said.
Billionaire investor George Soros of Katonah is ranked 19th. The 86-year-old has a net worth of $24.9 billion, Forbes said.
Media magnate James Cox Chambers, 59, a Palisades resident, ranks 61st with a net worth of $7.3 billion.
Ralph Lauren, the 76-year-old fashion designer and Bedford resident, checks in at No. 83 with a $5.9 billion net worth.
Another Bedford estate owner, Republican president nominee Donald Trump, is ranked 156th with a $3.7 billion net worth.
Trump, 70, also owns Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Stormville and Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor. The Trump name also adorns Trump Tower At City Center in White Plains, Trump Plaza in New Rochelle, Trump Park Residences in Yorktown and the Donald J. TrumpState Park on the Westchester/Putnam border.
David Siegel, a 55-year-old hedge fund investor from Scarsdale, ranks 194th with a net worth of $3.3 billion.
David Rockefeller Sr., heir to the Rockefeller family fortune, ranks 214th. The 101-year-old Pocantico Hills resident has a $3.1 billion net worth.
Amy Goldman Fowler of Rhinebeck is ranked 222th. The 62-year-old, who grew up in a real estate family, is an author, gardener and philanthropist. In addition to her 200-acre Dutchess farm, she also lives on Fifth Avenue. She has a net worth of $3 billion.
Scarsdale hedge-fund CEO Daniel Och checked in at No. 246. The 55-year-old has a $2.7 billion net worth.
Croton-on-Hudson's Thomas Secunda ranks 290th with the 62-year-old's net worh at $2.4 billion.
With a net worth of $81 billion, Microsoft founder Bill Gates was ranked No. 1 in the Forbes 400.
