Oakland Draws Up New Library Plans

OAKLAND, N.J. -- Plans for updates to the Oakland Public Library were presented at a public hearing Sept. 29, more than 15 years since voters approved the proposed updates, reported NorthJersey.com.

After litigation involving construction companies, Arcari and Iovino of Little Ferry, was awarded a contract for $72,450, to complete the project's designs, according to NorthJersey.com.

The library plans on moving the adult collection from the lower level to the ground floor; a new stage for performances will be added to the original annex; a new young adults section will be added on the ground floor; and the computer area will be updated, according to NorthJersey.com.
