A “super possessor” caught with more than 200,000 child porn images by a task force of county prosecutor’s investigators, federal agents and state authorities will spend at least three years in prison as part of a six-year plea deal.

MD Farid Uddin, 44, of Elizabeth, pleaded guilty Monday to distributing pornographic videos and photos of children as part of the agreement with state authorities.

“Super possessors of child pornography like Uddin who distribute these materials on the internet generate increased demand for this filth and directly drive the sexual abuse of young children,” state Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said.

Uddin, who is scheduled to be sentenced on March 22, was among 79 child predators and child pornography offenders arrested during “Operation Safety Net,” a nine-month, multi-agency child protection operation led by the New Jersey Regional Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in 2017.

Headed by New Jersey State Police, the task force includes members of the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, all 21 county prosecutors’ offices and several other state, county and local law enforcement agencies.

Eight of those charged were New Jersey men who authorities said tried to have children transported interstate so they could have sex with them.

Uddin will be required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law and will be subject to parole supervision for life, said Grewal, of Glen Rock, who was Bergen County's prosecutor when the task force was created.

Uddin also forfeited more than $1 million worth of counterfeit perfume that the attorney said detectives with a warrant seized from his garage during a raid on his home.

Deputy Attorney General Alyssa Bloom handled the plea deal for the state Division of Criminal Justice Financial & Computer Crimes Bureau.

Authorities urged anyone who has information about the distribution of child pornography online – or who suspects someone is exploiting, sexually abusing or improperly contacting children online to contact the New Jersey Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Tipline: 888-648-6007 .
