Rosalie 'Lil' Orlando Maurer, 94, Former Oakland Resident

OAKLAND, N.J. -- Rosalie "Lil" (Scibetta) Orlando Maurer -- a Lakewood resident, formerly of Oakland -- died on Friday, March 4. She was 94

Born in Hasbrouck Heights, Maurer was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Oakland. She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and a volunteer for the parish school as a cafeteria aide and sewing instructor.

She is survived by her children, Charles Orlando, Jr. and Rita Brossett, both of Lakewood; grandchildren Brynne, Melissa, Michele, John, Jennifer and Brian; and great-grandchildren Astrid, Hannah, Kylie, Sophie, Jack, Nell, Van, Nate, Benjamin, Michael and Rachael.

Maurer was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Orlando; second husband William Maurer; daughter Rosanne Woods; son Thomas Orlando; and brothers Carl and Paul Scibetta.

Visiting hours will be from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., in Lakewood. Additional visiting hours and the funeral service will be from 8-9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 11, at the Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Rd., in Oakland. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 11, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Oakland. Burial will follow in the Maryrest Cemetery, in Mahwah.
