Robert E. Morris, 86, Longtime Oakland Resident

OAKLAND, N.J. — Longtime Oakland resident Robert E. Moris died Wednesday, May 11. He was 86. 

A native of Bloomington Wis., Morris was a resident of Oakland for more than 30 years before moving to Mahwah in 2000. 

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. 

Morris was the owner of Remco Overhead Crane Inc. 

Morris is survived by his wife, Jane Moris (Ward) of 61 years; daughter, Susan Desotle and her husband George, son, Robert Moris and his wife Laurie, daughter, Carol Krass and her husband Mark, and daughter Pamela Morris; 10 grandchildren; four great-granddaughters and one great-grandson on the way. 

Relatives and friends may visit with the family between 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Oakland Memorial Home. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Mahwah. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Morris' memory may be made to St. Jude's Foundation.
