Leonard J. Van Grouw, 87, Of Wyckoff

WYCKOFF, N.J. – Leonard J. Van Grouw, 87, of Wyckoff, died Monday, Nov. 2.

Born in Glen Rock, he lived in Wyckoff before moving to the Christian Health Care Center four years ago. 

He served his country in the U.S. Army and, prior to his retirement, he was part owner of Prospect Reed and Harness Company in Prospect Park. He was a member of the Ebenezer Netherlands Reformed Church in Franklin Lakes.

He was the husband of the late Margaret R. (neé Rose) Van Grouw, who died in 2013; father of Dr. Richard A. Van Grouw and his wife, Sarah, of Arkansas; Janet O’Keefe of Pompton Lakes; Ronald Van Grouw and his wife, Jackie, of Fredon; Ruth Ann Easterhoff and her husband, Edward, of Wisconsin; Raymond Van Grouw and his wife, Wendy, of Wantage; James L. Van Grouw and his wife, Beverly, of South Carolina; and the late Mary Jean Van Grouw; grandfather of 27 grandchildren and great-grandfather of 13. He also had one brother, one sister-in-law and one brother-in-law.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Ebenezer Netherlands Reformed Church, 875 Ewing Ave., Franklin Lakes. Interment will be at Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the Netherlands Reformed Christian School, 164 Jacksonville Road, Pompton Plains, NJ 07444-0744.
