In a statement posted Saturday, April 5, Township Theatre in Washington Township described the behavior, believed to be from Waldwick boys, as “completely unacceptable.”

The theater confirmed it obtained video footage of the incident.

“We also received multiple complaints from other moviegoers who were trying to enjoy the film with their families,” the theater said.

Effective immediately, the theater says all minors must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult to see "The Minecraft Movie." “Unaccompanied groups of boys will not be admitted,” management said.

“If your son was at Township Theatre last night,” the statement continued, “we strongly encourage you to have a conversation with him about his behavior.”

The theater thanked the public for helping maintain a “safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all of our guests.”
