The tree collection will start in District 1 and proceed through District 8. The second and final round is tentatively scheduled to start Jan. 11. Therefore, Sunday, Jan. 10, is the last day to place holiday trees at the curb for collection.
Residents also may bring their Christmas trees between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays to the Recycling and Conservation Center on West Main Street.
Christmas trees placed at the curb must be free from all ornaments, tree stands, tinsel and other decorations. The trees should not be wrapped in plastic nor placed in plastic bags.
The discarded trees are chipped and the chips will be available to Wyckoff residents in the spring at the Recycling/Conservation Center.
Since this is the prime time for snow and the primary responsibility of the DPW during the winter is sanding and plowing township roads, Christmas tree pickup will be suspended for inclement weather.
Christmas trees will not be collected by the regular trash collectors. After the conclusion of the special collection period, residents must bring discarded trees to the Recycling Center at 475 West Main St.
