Officers Dan O’Neill and Tom Foschini stopped a vehicle on River Road around 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, for heavily tinted windows and crossing the double yellow line, according to New Milford Police Chief Brian T. Clancy.

That’s when the driver, Tajh Elliot, 28, of Teaneck, admitted he had a Glock tucked in his waistband, police said.

The officers tactically removed Elliot from the car, cuffed him, and safely unloaded the gun. A 10-round magazine was removed, and the weapon was logged into evidence.

Elliot claimed he had a permit to carry—but police said the permit had expired.

Elliot was charged with:

  • Possession of a handgun without a permit (2nd degree)
  • Carrying a firearm without a holster (4th degree)

He also was issued two tickets—one for tinted windows, the other for failure to maintain lane.

Elliot was processed at New Milford Police HQ before being taken to the Bergen County Jail, Clancy said.
