Morris County Sheriff’s CrimeStoppers are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information about an urn holding cremated ashes that was stolen from the doorstep of a Mount Olive apartment.

A package containing the urn — which holds the ashes of the victim’s father — was stolen from the Village Green Apartment Complex in Budd Lake sometime between 12:50 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Feb. 26, Sheriff James M. Gannon said.

The urn has a motorcycle on top and is engraved with the victim’s father’s name, Gannon said.

The urn pictured above is similar but not identical to the one that was stolen.

“Help us solve this crime,” Gannon said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to visit www.copcall.org or call 973-COP-CALL.
