A 24-year-old woman was under the influence when police pulled her over for driving the wrong way in Hackettstown, authorities said.

Brianna Devlin, 24, of Wharton swerved into the wrong lane when making a right turn from West Moore Street onto Washington Street Sunday around 2 a.m., Hackettstown police said.

The vehicle was located on the 100 block of Valentine Street with Devlin standing outside, police say.

During questioning, police say they detected an alcoholic odor.

Devlin was subsequently arrested and charged with DWI, careless driving and expired registration. She was later released pending a court appearance.
