A 31-year-old Hackettstown man held a victim at knifepoint and struck him from behind with a blunt object during an argument outside of a local strip club, authorities charged.
Steve Fernandez met a man in the parking lot of Stage Dolls on Route 46 and held a knife to his abdomen around 9 p.m. Nov. 21, Independence Township Police said.
Fernandez then struck the victim’s head with a blunt object as he turned to walk away, authorities said.
The victim sustained serious head and face injuries and was treated at Hackettstown Hospital, police said.
Fernandez was arrested Nov. 25 and charged with aggravated assault, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon and two counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
He was being held at the Warren County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.
