P’Burg Man Armed With Stolen Revolver Threatened To Kill Victim During Sexual Assault: Police

A Phillipsburg man was armed with a stolen revolver when he sexually assaulted and threatened to kill his victim, authorities charged.

Qasim T. Woods, 41, was charged with second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence following a Thursday, May 18 gunpoint sexual assault, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said Tuesday, May 30.

Woods was allegedly found with the silver revolver used during the incident that was determined to have been stolen out of Pennsylvania.

Woods was charged on Thursday, May 25 with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, terroristic threats, and receiving stolen property, the prosecutor added.

Woods was being held at the Warren County Jail pending an initial court appearance.

Assisting agencies include the Warren County Prosecutor's Office Special Victim's Unit, the Phillipsburg Police Department, and the Warren County Tactical Response Team.
