Elizabeth Woman Among 5 Accused Of Abusing Disabled Adults At Daycare

Five employees of an East Brunswick care facility, along with the facility itself, were indicted on charges involving the abuse and neglect of two disabled adults, the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office said Wednesday.

Elizabeth resident Janella Allen, 31, was indicted on two counts of abandonment and neglect of a disabled person and two counts of endangerment. Also indicted were Broadway Respite and Home Care and four other employees: Asia Lunn, 22, Kenitra Hicks, 34, Kieasha Morgan 24, Hugo Lorenzo, 25, all of New Brunswick. 

Authorities say that the two disabled adults were physically abused by staff in May and that the facility failed to protect the adults from abuse.
