Born and raised in Bernardsville, Matt attended Raritan Valley Community College (North Branch) and earned his associate's degree in liberal arts, his obituary says.
He wet on to graduate Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech in 2010.
Matt had been working as a commercial estimator for Direct Millwork in Washington, his obituary says. He was passionate about fishing, playing his guitar, music and watching sports, according to his obituary.
Matt is survived by his girlfriend Nicole Listmeier; parents Patrick and Judith Sarver; brother Eric and his wife Jenna; along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A memorial visitation for immediate family and close friends will be Saturday, March 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home in Basking Ridge.
Interment will be on a later date at the Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in East Hanover.
