"A good friend once told me that one usually knows when it is time to move on," Pinsak, 70, announced in a letter she sent to families Tuesday.
"And although I couldn’t have imagined ever being ready, I have come to the point that it is time for me."
Pinsak served as the district's interim superintendent and several administrative and teaching roles before assuming her role as superintendent in 2011.
