Upon most requests, the Paramus-based Bergen County Mosquito Control Division may notify residents 12 hours prior to the application, unless there is a quarantine or disease control situation that may call for faster action. Residents can help by eliminating standing water and other breeding grounds for disease-carrying insects, they said.
