Teaneck Police Seize $40G, Charge Philly Driver With Money Laundering

TEANECK, N.J. -- A secret vehicle compartment held $40,000 in cash that Teaneck police seized while arresting the Philadelphia driver on charges of money laundering and carrying a single illegal prescription pill.

Ramon Antnio Pelegrin Serrano, 42, was ordered held on $25,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.

Members of the department's Narcotics Squad found the car "trap" during a routine traffic stop at the intersection of Larch Avenue and Oritani Place on Nov. 2, Police Chief Robert A. Carney said.
