TEANECK, N.J. -- Teaneck firefighters rescued a 14-year-old boy who sunk in the mud up to his waist in the Hackensack River while fishing with a friend Thursday afternoon.
The Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps and local police also responded to Old River Road near Sanzari's New Bridge Inn as firefighters -- using a life preserver and a rope -- pulled him out.
"He got too close and sunk," one responder told Daily Voice.
