An unknown male hit Edward Dupont, 53, of Camden, on the head, causing him to fall off his bike and hit his head on the pavement at 7th and Pine streets on July 6, around 9:10 a.m., acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer said.

Dupont was rushed to Cooper Hospital, where he was being treated, and died of his injuries on July 25, Mayer said alongside Camden County Metro Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

After performing an autopsy on Dupont, the medical examiner determined the cause of death to be complications of a head injury and the manner of death to be homicide.

The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
