HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- Michael Niekrewicz, of Hasbrouck Heights, died on Friday, March 17. He was 80.
Born in New York City, Niekrewicz was a sorter for UPS in New York City. He later worked in security at Bergen Technical High School in Hackensack and then he was a school crossing guard in Hasbrouck Heights.
He is survived by his children, Chris Niekrewicz, Mikey Niekrewicz and his girlfriend Maureen Woodward, Lori Ann Gonzalez and her husband David, Karyn Green and her husband Mike, Sue Frola and her husband Dave, and Debbie Burniston and her husband Tom.
Niekrewicz is also survived by his grandchildren, Amanda Schneider, Samantha Frola, Kimberly and Tommy Burniston, and Tyler Green, and his sisters, Florence Mikulak and Joann Grzybek.
He was preceded by his wife, Mary Ann (nee Choma) Niekrewicz, parents, Boleslaw and Anna Niekrewicz
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, March 20, at the Costa Memorial Home, 170 Central Ave., in Hasbrouck Heights. The funeral will be from the funeral home on Tuesday at 9 a.m. with a 10 a.m. funeral liturgy from Corpus Christi Church, in Hasbrouck Heights. Interment will follow, at St. Mary’s Cemetery ,in Saddle Brook.
