TEANECK, N.J. – Lena A. (Buoncristiano) Guatta, of Teaneck, died Sunday, June 12. She was 97.
She was a retired teacher's aide for St. Anastasia School in Teaneck and a parishioner of St. Anastasia Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of the Altar and Scapular Society and was active with the various functions of Deborah Hospital in Browns Mills.
She was the mother of Michael Guatta and his wife, Jean, and Anne Szedlacik and her husband, Thomas; grandmother of Brian Guatta, and Tracy and Thomas Szedlacik; and great-grandmother of Sutton.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Guatta; sisters, Rose, Mary and Jenny; and brothers, Thomas, Louis and Michael.
Visiting will take place from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 S. Washington Ave., Bergenfield. All will gather at the funeral home at 9 a.m. Thursday for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Anastasia Roman Catholic Church, 1095 Teaneck Road, Teaneck. Interment will take place at Madonna Cemetery in Fort Lee.
