TEANECK, N.J. -- Happy birthday to Teaneck's Linda Scott. A pop singer active from the late '50s to the early '70s, she's turning 72 this Thursday, June 1.
Scott was born in Queens, but her family moved to Teaneck when she was 11. It was while she was attending Teaneck High School that she auditioned for Arthur Godfrey's popular CBS radio show and became a regular guest.
Her biggest hit, "I've Told Every Little Star," also came while she was still in high school; it was certified gold. She had a total of 12 songs that charted in the next few years.
In 1995, Eric Records released "The Complete Hits of Linda Scott," and Scott's recording of "I've Told Every Little Star" was included in David Lynch's 2001 film "Mulholland Drive."
