David Heatley, a Teaneck native, turns 41 Saturday.
Heatley, a multi-hyphenate artist best known as a cartoonist based in Jackson Heights, N.Y., was born Oct. 17, 1974.
While Heatley studied painting and filmmaking at Oberlin College in Ohio, his cartoonist career took off in the late 1990s. His work has been featured on the cover of The New Yorker, in The New York Times, McSweeney’s, Mome, the Best American Comics series and Kramers Ergot. He has published a comic book series and one full-length book titled “My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down.”
