Happy Birthday To Jess Harnell, Noted Voice Actor And Teaneck Native

ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- Happy birthday to Jess Harnell -- who's both the longtime announcer for "America's Funniest Home Videos" and a well-known voice actor. He's turning 53 this Friday.

Born in Englewood and raised in Teaneck, Harnell is perhaps best known for voicing Ironhide in the "Transformers" films and video games, and Wakko Warner, over the five seasons the animated "Animaniacs" was on-air, in the '90s.

You know Wakko, the only one of the three siblings that spoke in a British accent, quite like Ringo Starr's, for no discernible reason.

Harnell has a whopping 143 acting credits to his name, almost exclusively as a voice actor, in films, TV movies and a vast array of TV shows -- including voicing Chilly on "Doc McStuffins" over the course of three years.

Rounding out his voice-talent resume, Harnell is the frontman for the L.A. band Rock Sugar, which was formed in 2009. The band does mashups of pop and metal, mostly from the '80s, and the songs really put his wide-ranging vocal talents to the test.

Just in time for Christmas, you can listen to "Don't Stop The Santa Man" here. It's a Chrismas version of their "Don't Stop the Sandman," which is a mashup of Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" and Metallica's "Enter Sandman."

It's weird -- and worth listening to.
