The deadline for ordering from this year's "Pies for Prevention" Thanksgiving Bake Sale is Sunday, Nov. 15.This year's sale dedicated to the memory of Rochelle Shoretz, a lawyer who founded the Sharsheret, a national non-profit support group that serves women facing breast and ovarian cancer and their families.
Shoretz died in May at her Teaneck home. She was 42.
Sisters Adeena Sussman and Sharon Wieder launched the Pies For Prevention Thanksgiving Bake Sale seven years ago in memory of a mother and grandmother they lost to ovarian cancer.
"Pies for Prevention" seeks to ensure that no Jewish woman has to face ovarian cancer alone.
