The morning session will include a live panel discussion from 10 a.m. - noon with topics that include homelessness, education, employment, mental health, community service, and housing.

From 1 - 3 p.m., the veteran's resource clinic will open and showcase more than 40 vendors for veterans and their families to learn more about services.

The nearly century-old organization aims to help those who are disadvantaged by identifying and addressing their needs in education, employment, housing, urban affairs, economic, community development, and social welfare.

"We're getting the word out to veterans that we can provide non-emergency round-trip transportation, even to and from VA offices, and we're working on coordinating more rides," said Davin Lehman, a military veteran who operates Driven By Heroes.

Bergen County is home to 37,000 estimated veterans in the most populous county in the state. Roughly 100 are homeless, and thousands suffer from physical and mental illnesses.

All of those interested in attending the event must RSVP: (201) 568-4988 or Frazier@ulbcnj.org
