Teaneck Theater Readies 'Passing Strange'

TEANECK, N.J. -- Black Box Studios in Teaneck presents "Passing Strange" in concert, a fundraiser for the ongoing development of Huey Esquire's "This Time" -- a new musical romance.

The performances are:

  • Thursday at 8 p.m.
  • Saturday at 8 p.m.
  • Sunday at 3 p.m.

Created in collaboration with Annie Dorse, "Passing Strange" is a blues-rock musical that tells the story of a young black musician growing up in 1970s Los Angeles who flees to Europe to find himself. 

Tickets are: General admission ($30), students ($18), couple ($50), VIP individual ($50).

The book and lyrics are by Stew, and the music is by Stew and Heidi Rodewald.
