A 56-year-old Newton woman was under the influence when she drove her 2016 BMW into another vehicle stopped for a red light Saturday night, police said.

Tammy Hyatt was attempting a right turn onto Moran Street from Trinity Street around 10:36 p.m. when she struck a Ford Focus on Moran, police said.

Neither Hyatt nor the woman in the Ford were injured.

In addition to DUI, Hyatt was issued motor-vehicle summonses for careless driving and failure to keep right.

Hyatt was released pending a July 30 court appearance.
