Born in Denville, Taylor lived in Great Meadows before graduating from Asheboro High School in North Carolina, his obituary says.
Taylor worked as a counter person for the Maserati parts department and was known for his love of racing and cars, his memorial says.
Taylor also had a passion for working on computers and was of the Baptist faith.
More than $10,400 had been raised on a GoFundMe for Taylor’s funeral expenses (under the name Peyton Tilney) — though new donations were currently disabled by the organizer, Katie DiBernard.
Taylor is survived by his loving parents, Colleen and Michael Tilney; his siblings, Ethan, Rylee and Luke; his paternal grandmother, Marilyn Tilney; maternal grandparents, Deborah Dixon and James Taylor Sr., as well as numerous extended family members and close friends.
Taylor’s funeral was held Dec. 6 at Maguire-Scala Memorial Home on High Street in Hackettstown.
“Peyton was an outstanding young man with a huge heart,” DiBernard wrote. “He will be missed by all, may he rest in peace.”
