The pool closed in September 2018 due to an estimated $270,000 worth of repairs, which ended up totaling around $400,000, NJHerald reports.

The improvements — recommended by a group of engineers — included the removal of the pool’s old plaster finish, the addition of stairs for children, seniors and individuals with disabilities as well as the reinforcement of its structure for longevity, the report says.

Access to the pool is free to town residents and costs $5 per person ($3 for seniors) for non-residents, who can reserve their spot starting August 22.

Currently COVID-19 restrictions limit pool admission to three sessions each day: while Swimmers ages 55 and up can access the pool between 9 and 11 a.m., everyone has access from 12 to 3 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.
