In 2014, more than 30 children in the U.S., including a baby in New York, died from heatstroke after being left alone in hot cars.  The New York State Department of Health reminds all caretakers of the following tips to keep children safe this summer: There is no safe amount of time or any reason to leave a child in a parked car. Frances Olga Wistrand Ferris, 91, Ossining Resident OSSINING, N.Y. – Frances Olga Wistrand Ferris, of Ossining, died Saturday, July 23 at Phelps Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 1, 1924, in Mount Kisco, the daughter of the late Ernst and Catherine (Casey) Wistrand. She was raised in White Plains and during World War II she was a “Rosie the Riveter” at Eastern Aircraft in North Tarrytown. She married Raymond Ferris May 12, 1947, in White Plains. She then moved to Ossining with her family in 1955. She was a retired supervisor with the state Division of Unemployment in White Plains for more than 50 years. She is survived by her five child…
