Arrest Made In Prospect Park Stabbing Of Saddle Brook Man, 26, Found In Van In Hawthorne

UPDATE: Police arrested a Prospect Park man on attempted murder charges after he stabbed a transport van driver from Saddle Brook who was found bleeding from his wounds in a van in Hawthorne Sunday night, authorities said.

Omroy O. Williams, 34, stabbed the 26-year-old victim three times on North 11th Street in Prospect Park, authorities said.The victim drove to Hawthorne, where he was found in the van in a parking area behind 320 Lafayette Avenue after receiving a 911 call shortly before 9 p.m.

The victim was recuperating at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson.

Besides first-degree attempted murder, Williams was charged with several aggravated assault and weapons counts, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes Prospect Park Police Chief Charlie Atie said in a joint release.

He remained held in the Passaic County Jail pending a detention hearing.
